Internationally famous for its collections of art and design, the Whitworth Art Gallery which is part of the University of Manchester in northwest England, is home to an impressive range of watercolours, prints, drawings, modern art and sculpture, as well as the largest collections of textiles and wallpapers outside London. Opening Times Monday to Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 2-5pm. The Gallery is open on Bank Holiday Mondays at Easter, in May and August. The Gallery is closed on Good Friday, and between Christmas and New Year. The Gallery is closed from Friday 22 December and reopens on Tuesday 2 January 2007. Entry to the Gallery is free.
