Make all your wishes come true at the Enchanted Well, with its ancient and magical spring taking you back to the mystical age of Druids, Soothsayers and Magicians? To our earliest ancestors, fresh water was a precious and magical substance. It was the basic requirement of life, and without it no settlement could survive. Places where water appeared out of rock, such as springs and wells, had special significance. The miraculous appearance of fresh water out of dry, hard earth, was believed to be a gift from the gods who inhabited these sacred wells. Druids carried out religious ceremonies and people left offerings to please the gods and to ensure a steady supply of fresh water. Nowadays, the tradition continues with our modern day wishing well. Toss a coin in the well, make a wish, and maybe you dreams will come true!
